FUTURE OF GEELONGS SOUTH WEST

Barwon Heads Road Upgrade

One of the most significant road infrastructure projects in Victoria’s south west is currently reshaping one of the Geelong region’s busiest arterial corridors — and we were proud to be part of the supply chain that helped make it happen.

The project got underway with Stage 1, a 4-kilometre duplication of Barwon Heads Road between Settlement Road and Reserve Road. This was far more than a simple lane addition. The scope of work included:

  • Construction of a new bridge over the railway line at Marshall, eliminating the level crossing entirely
  • Upgraded signalised intersections at Settlement and Breakwater roads
  • 4km of new shared walking and cycling paths with dedicated on-road cycling lanes
  • New street lighting, road signage, drainage infrastructure and landscaping throughout

Being part of a project that will serve the Geelong community for decades to come is something we don’t take lightly. RAAF BASE EAST SALE

Total signage fitout.

Situated outside the east Victorian town of Sale, the base’s primary role is training the next generation of Air Force personnel.

Construction works have been completed for Flight line shelters for 20-30 aircraft, maintenance hangars, paint shop, aircraft life support equipment store, flight line building, a flying training school classrooms, simulators, flight training device facilities, working accommodation and briefing rooms; central flying school, living in accommodation, aircraft wash facility, engine run up facility, extension to the existing medical facility, trunk infrastructure grades, car parking and new aprons and taxiways.

From the beginning, Uniform Safety Signs were involved with a distributor, for the design, construct and install of all signage.  Due to the high sensitive nature of these works, confidentiality applies to the works.  Another job that we were able to successfully complete and add another raving fan of a customer to our database.

The bushfire crisis in early 2020 transformed the East Sale RAAF base from a training centre into one of the country’s most active operational bases.

HMAS CERBERUS

Full custom signage solution.

HMAS Cerberus is located approximately 75km South of Melbourne. The redevelopment will upgrade and refurbish the existing infrastructure and facilities on the Base to meet current and future training and support requirements. The Base is proposed to remain operational during the redevelopment works.

The proposed redevelopment will deliver:

• The upgrade of key base services including power, water, stormwater, sewerage, gas, fuel systems and information and communications technology to modern standards and to develop spare capacity,
• Working, training and living accommodations upgraded to contemporary and functional standards and;
• Synergistic functions such as messing, logistics support and retail areas are to be consolidated with a view to achieving efficiencies and redundant buildings that are surplus are to be demolished.

Uniform Safety Signs was the obvious choice of supplier, working with one of our distributors to provide a full custom signage solution.  From providing directional signage, identification signage, braille signage, right through to installation, it has been an excellent showcase providing us with the knowledge to take on a project of any size.
